Virginia Larry Maner was born in Shelby Community Hospital in Shelby, Mississippi at 10:10 pm on February 28th 1968. She passed away early morning, January 14, 2023. Virginia was born to Willie Mae Larry and Robert Housten. Virginia graduated high school and continued her education, earning an Associates Degree from Everest University in Applied Science and Management. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Orchid Cove Rehabilitation Center. Virginia was a member of the Moore-Mickens Education and Vocational Center Advisory Board and served often. She would volunteer at Fundraisers and kept the group laughing. She also served as a COGIC Choir Member, East Pasco Senior Choir Guild Member, Member of the Culinary Staff, Victory Prayer Warrior Member, and as the Sunday School Secretary. She was always willing to serve in any faculty asked of her. She was the last of Willie’s 10 children. Virginia was a stern and doting mother. She taught her girls Independence, respect, and discipline while spoiling them with love and friendship. She loved hard, worked hard, and blessed others whenever she could. She made everyone laugh and if you were fortunate enough to see her with her siblings, you’d know she was the baby. Her light will be loved and missed; but it lives on in every life she impacted. She was proceeded in death by: Robert Larry, Betty Morgan, and Geraldine Twelly Knight. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Maner, who she married December 26, 2013 after an almost 30 year relationship ;2 daughters, Tyrica Larry and Quantabia Maner; 1 granddaughter, Tristan Hinkle; 4 sisters, Earnestine Jenkins, Delorse White, Elnora Owens, and Dirtha Spaights; 2 brothers, Jimmy Larry and Richard Larry; and a host of nieces, nephews, and respected peers that love her deeply.
