Tariq O. Fashola was born on March 16, 1998, in Tampa, Florida, to Shalon McKay. He was a proud graduate of Wharton High School, Class of 2016. Following high school, Tariq continued his education at Hillsborough Community College, where he spent two years furthering his studies. He later honorably served his country as a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force, carrying out duties with dedication, pride and integrity. After his military service, Tariq continued his commitment to service as a contracted employee at the Pentagon in Washington, DC, where he remained steadfast in excellence and professionalism. Tariq had a deep love for basketball. He was a devoted fan of the Los Angeles Lakers and greatly admired Kobe Bryant, whose passion, discipline and work ethic inspired him. He also cherished spending time with his beloved family and close friends. Tariq’s kind spirit, warm presence, and genuine heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by everyone who had the privilege of encountering him. Tariq passed away on December 8, 2025. He is survived by his loving mother, Shalon; his sister, Ava; his great grandfather, David Clark; his grandmothers, Hazel Brown and Oluranti Fashola; his godsons, Christopher Jr and Clyde Taylor; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
