Roberta G. Penix

Roberta Gail Penix was born December 2, 1954 to the Late Robert Lee Penix and the Late Essie Penix in Dade City, Florida. Roberta attended the public school system of Pasco County where she met and made many friends. Roberta accepted Christ at an early age and became a devoted and faithful member of Mt. Zion AME Church. She enjoyed her duties as Sunday School Teacher, Secretary and working with the Youth Department. Roberta spent countless hours helping and guiding the youth of her community. She later moved her membership to Bread of Life Worship Center under the leadership of her Pastor, Elder Freeman D. McClendon. Roberta enjoyed her final days working for the Lord and helped in many capacities of the church. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Roberta was employed with the Pasco County Sheriff Department for 31 years and, there she met and made many lasting friendships. Roberta was a proud member of The Beta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Pi Chi National Sorority, Inc. as well as a faithful member of the Ladies of Elegance Silver Ministry. Roberta’s presence and loving smile will be greatly missed by her family, her friends and her community. God picked a beautiful rose from his beautiful garden on Wednesday, May 19, 2021. and Roberta’s loving eyes were closed. Roberta was preceded in death by her daughter, Tomeka Brown; her parents; her brother, Clarence Sims; and her sister, Deloris Penix. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Adrienne Brown of Dade City, FL; her grandson, Devon Toomer of Dade City, FL; two granddaughters, Amari Penix and Chloe Matthews both of Dade City, FL; 5 sisters, Katheren Southward (Billy) of Dade City, FL, Lenola Penix of Lakeland, FL, Cheryl Penix of Dade City, FL, Marilynn Camacho (Jose) of Chicago, Illinois, and Robin Penix of Apollo Beach, FL; 5 brothers, Bobby Lenton of Thomasville, GA, Robert Penix Jr. (Felecia) of Dade City, FL, Alvin Penix (Deina) of Seffner, FL, Mark Penix (Geneva) of Dade City, FL, and Bernard Penix of Warren, Michigan; 1 aunt, Eunice Penix of Dade City, FL; sister-in-law, Adelle Sims of New York, NY; a special cousin and friend, Rose Baker-Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.

*Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have implemented necessary procedures during Visitations, Funeral Ceremonies, Gravesides, and other public and private ceremonies.  We do ask that all visitors of these services to please continue to wear your masks and please remember to social distance.  These new policies may be inconvenient, but due to the severity of the virus, we ask that everyone be considerate, patient, and safe with others as we try to get through this most difficult time.  Seating during services may be limited so please be considerate of the immediate family especially.  

*If you are attending a Graveside service or an Outdoor Celebration you are welcomed to bring your own chair as seating will be limited!  We will provide water to make everyone as comfortable as possible.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation during this time. We pray that everyone stays safe and cooperative with the current CDC rules.
