Mother Emma Russell was born November 2, 1930 in Chipley, Florida to the late Howard and Maggie (Williams) Wright. Mother Russell accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and reading the word of God. Mother Russell was a strong God fearing woman who loved the Lord with all of her heart, soul and mind. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Russell; daughters, Diana Gray, Gwendolyn McKever and Angela Russell. On Saturday, March 22, 2025, Mother Russell was called home to be at rest with her heavenly Father. She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Patricia Brockington and husband, Larange Brockington; grandchildren, Travis McKever, Suzette Brockington, Ronald Brockington, Cynthia Brockington, Monique Gray, Varsha Grady, Lerone Brockington, Jermaine Russell and Shedrick Russell; great-grandchildren, Karen Brown, Ronald Browdy, Syterria James Wigfall, Ashanti Brockington, Elexis Brockington, Kavasia Foster, Kindell Butts, Jakell Johnson, Jermain Russell, Shedrick Russell Jr., Malaya Brockington, Jaheim Hansberry, Karon Harrison, Tymar McKever and Gwendolyn McKever; great-grandchildren, Jayla, Jamar and Harmoni Gentle, Jasiuh and Shai Daniels, and Madison Russell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
