Dovie Marbra was born November 3, 1959 in Dade City, Florida to Eula Mae and the late Roosevelt Marbra. Dovie received her formal education in the Pasco County School System and furthered her education at St. Leo College. Dovie worked for Saddlebrook for many years, until her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards, listening to music, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and shopping for her grandchildren. Dovie was preceded in death by: her son, Ronnie Barber; grandmother, Lela Bell Lawshee; aunts, Helen Marbra, Emma Jean Marbra, Fannie B. Pippins, Lizzie Moncrief, Bernice Evans, and Katie Lee; uncles, Willie Lee Marbra, and Ulyssee Wells. On Thursday, September 4, 2025 Dovie was called home to rest. She leaves to cherish precious memories with; a loving and devoted mother, Eula Mae Marbra of Tampa, Florida; children, TaShaney Walker and husband, Tim of Tampa, Florida, Willie Tooks, Jr. of Zephyrhills, Florida, Rokisha Barber of Dade City, Florida, Dorian Tookes and wife, Nikia of Plant City, Florida, Darien Tookes of Tampa, Florida, and Marcus Tookes of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren, Paul Bass of Tampa, Florida, Naudia Croson of Dade City, Florida, Ivy Walker of Tampa, Florida, Arianna Tookes of Fort Myers, Florida, Damayiah Tookes, Jr. and Darien Tookes both of Tampa, Florida, Avarrian Barber and Journee Williams both of Dade City, Florida, Mia Tookes of Phoenix, Arizona, Janiya Tookes, London Tookes, and Latavion Tookes all of Tampa, Florida, Mackenzie Tookes, Sierra Lewis, and "Lil" Ronnie Lewis all of Zephyrhills, Florida; aunts, Katherine Taylor of Burlington, New Jersey, Janice Wells of Lacoochee, Florida, Joyce Ann Marbra of Trilby, Florida, and Shirley Ann Payne; uncle, Bennie Wells; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
