Carolyn June Papke was born in Decater, Illinois to the loving parents of Cyril and Lois Barnhardt in the summer of 1932. Carolyn met her husband, Donald Papke of 66 years in Tampa, Florida and would get married and settle down in Clearwater, Florida shortly after. Carolyn was the loving mother of Rodney Papke and Karen Pereiro, as well as the amazing grandmother to six granddaughters; Kristina Papke, Brittany Pereiro, Brooke Pereiro, Alexis Pereiro, Caitlyn Papke, and Hailey Pereiro. She fulfilled her love for shopping by working in retail for several years in department stores including Maas Brothers as well as Ivy, later known as Dillard’s. Carolyn was mobile in her community. Carolyn stayed active by attending church often, as well as in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority group where she created meaningful friendships and long lasting memories. Carolyn is remembered for being thorough and productive in the art realm through her creativity and attention to detail. Carolyn was an avid craft artist and amateur photographer, and loved creating artwork and capturing memories with her impressive skills and patience to do things right and to completion. Most notably was her Christmas tree decorations each year. Carolyn was an extremely involved grandmother, and enjoyed going on vacation, going out to eat, and several other activities including visiting the flea market and the beach often with her granddaughters and the rest of the family.
