Mr. Willie E. Bivins

Willie Earl Bivins, affectionately known as “YoYo”, was born April 14, 1945 in Coleman, Florida to the parents of Ada Bivins and James Preister. At a young age, Willie moved to Lacoochee, Florida with his aunt, Bennie and uncle Kurt, where he resided until adulthood. Willie received his formal education at Florida Academy in Lacoochee, Florida and Mickens High School, Dade City, Florida, where Willie met and made many friends. Willie was a fruit picker by trade. He enjoyed traveling and mingling with those he met along his journey in life. After Willie retired, he enjoyed walking the streets of Lacoochee and Trilby, mingling and scratching his tickets, until his health began to fail, in 2017. Willie departed this life on Saturday, May 2, 2026. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ada Bivins and James Preister; those who raised him, Bennie and Kurt Clay; grandmother, Josie Mae Bivins; 2 uncles, Claude Bivins and Clarence Bivins; and 1 sister, Vernetta Cox. He leaves to cherish his memory: 2 sisters, Virginia Bivins of Coleman, Florida and Vanessa Emem of Brooklyn, New York; a very special cousin, Carlotta Meeks; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
