Brother Nolan Hurt was born December 11,1936, in Sardis Mississippi, as a beloved twin, alongside Olen Hurt, born to Willie and Annie Mae Hurt. Brother Nolan was one of 16 children, which included 4 sets of twins. As a child, Brother Hurt enjoyed riding horses. Some of his fondest memories were in the kitchen cooking with his mom, where he learned to make his famous sweet potato pies. In 1960, Brother Hurt moved to Dade City, FL. He worked for Lykes Pasco Packing Company where he met his ex-wife, Florence P. Baker (Deceased). Brother Hurt was a devoted father to Terry Lane Hurt (Deceased) and Monyette Plummer Louis. Brother Nolan and his family moved to Cocoa, FL, where they lived for 14 years. Brother Hurt relocated to Miami and eventually settle in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Brother Hurt worked for East Coast Supply Roofing for 30 years and retired in 1999. In his retirement years, he enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and extended family, bowling, and baking pies. More importantly, Brother Hurt was a sharp dresser, matching hat, vest, shirt, tie, shoes, socks, pocket square with the finishing touches of the right watch and ring. On Wednesday, February 26, 2025 Brother Hurt's life was brought to a close, he passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. Brother Hurt is survived by; his daughter, Monyette Plummer Louis (Lenny) of Dade City, FL; granddaughter, Jazmine Hurt of Dade City, FL; grandson, Ladonnavin P. Revelus of Dade City, FL; 3 great- grandchildren, Angeliah Dennis, Liam Revelus, and Dustin Griffin all of Zephyrhills, FL; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
