Mr. Lorenzo King Sims was born August 13, 1960 in Dade City, Florida, to the late Nathaniel Sims, Sr. and the late Lorene Jones. He was a lifelong resident of Dade City, Florida, and received his formal education through the Pasco County Public School System. At an early age he joined the Church of God and Christ under the leadership of Bishop W.E. Davis. Lorenzo enjoyed his carreer as a truck driver for many years. He loved life and enjoyed many hobbies. In his greatest pastimes, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by: his son, Terrance Smith; brothers, Nathaniel Sims, Jr., Jeremiah Sims, and Linwood Tucker; sisters, Mercy Dee Sims, Thelma Robinson, Emma Lee Thompson, and Ruby Stephens. On Monday, June 1, 2026 Lorenzo departed this life. He leaves cherished memories with: a devoted daughter, Carla Smith (Joshua); sons, Tyrone Smith, Sr., and Lorenzo Smith (Daniela); grandchildren, Tyrone Smith, Jr., Ty’leyah, Jaylah, Zoey, Jimilla, Joshua, Jr., Jamier, Kirah, Shaleek, Kamren, and Noah; great-grandchildren, Zyaire, and Terrance; a devoted sister, Fay Joyce Harris; brother, Michael Ray Sims; niece, Briel Walker; special nephew, Shawn Harris; Rose Smith, friend and mother of his children; special cousins, Eunice Penix, and Venderee Foster; devoted cousins, Ashley Giles, Talbert Jones, and Shannon Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
