Mother Mary Louise Thornton was born January 4, 1938 in Dade City, Florida to the late Rufus Cooper and the late Louise Baker. Mother Thornton was an avid member of Glorious Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Elder Phillip T. Williams. She loved the Lord and enjoyed praising and worshiping God. In her past time, she enjoyed working on her word search puzzles. Mother Thornton was a sweet and humble person who loved her family and church family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her dearly. Mother Thornton was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Wille B. Thornton; her grandson, Tyris Thornton; and her sister, Elizbeth. On Thursday, April 3, 2025, God picked a beautiful rose from His garden and Mother Thornton was called home to rest. She leaves to cherish fond memories with: her loving and devoted children, Michael Oliver (Holly), Michael Thornton (Kawanita), David Thornton (Crystal), and Kimberly Welcome (Edward); and numerous grand children and great-grandchildren too numerous to name; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
