Mother Doris Harrold Obituary

Mother Doris Harrold was born on July 1, 1939 in Bronwood, GA to the late Essie Mae Scott Harvey and Fred Williams. She was raised by her late grandmother, Ethel Scott. She was educated in the Terrell County Public School System. Mrs. Doris accepted Christ at an early age and  joined First Bronwood Baptist Church.  On January 18, 1958, she married Ellis Harrold, and they settled in Zephyrhills FL. Together they raised 7 children of their own as well as a grandson. It is said that she helped to raise a village (the quarters), because kids often stopped by and stayed overnight. She was a phenomenal cook, and it would be hard to find someone in Zephyrhills that didn’t stop by Mrs. Doris' house, and get a plate to go.  She worked at Treasure Island in Plant City for many years, as well as the Pasco County School System.  While in Zephyrhills, she was a faithful member of Victorious Church of God in Christ where she dutifully served as head of the Usher Board. She was also Mother of the church. Mrs. Doris always spoke of her love for the Lord. She held a daily prayer vigil for those known and unknown that were in the need of prayer.  As her health begin to fail her, the Lord gently whispered to her, “My good and faithful servant, it is time to take your rest and receive your reward.”  Her light will continue to shine through her loving husband of 65+ years, Mr. Ellis Harrold; sons, Aron (Darlene) Harrold, Fred (Joyce) Harrold, Johnny (LaWanda) Harrold, and Taywon Harrold; daughter in law, Lori Davis-Williams.  Children preceding her in death: Larry Sr, Ellis Jr, Minnie, and Margaret.  A loving sister, Gladys Gardner (Albany GA);  Siblings preceding her in death: Ethel Mae Dykes, James JC Harvey, Morris Harvey, Oscar Mills, and Otis Till; grandchildren, Taywon Harrold, Michelle Echols, Larry Williams Jr., Shondraneka Williams, Rodney Williams, Tony Anthony Williams, Khara Morrell, Kiara Williams, J’Ron Williams, Jase Williams, Cameryn Williams, Sterlin Williams, Nikki Sanders, LaToya Tomlin, Janet Sanders, Antwan Smith, Lanika Davis, Denetra Harrold, Antarick Wilson, Spence Jones, Alexis Hodges, Janelle Love, Johnny Harrold Jr., Jalisa Harrold, and Jalen Harrold; 42 great-grands; 14 great-great grands; a dear friend, Ruby Henry; and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
