Mr. Michael Anthony Russ was born in Donaldsonville, Georgia on September 1, 1958 to Arthur and Hilda Russ. Mike attended the public school system of Pasco County where he met and made many lasting friendships. Mike graduated from Pasco Comprehensive High School in 1978. He was employed with Winn Dixie in his earlier years. Mike later worked several years with Pasco Middle School where he worked in various capacities and later retired. Mike accepted Christ at an early age. He previously served faithfully as a member of Mt. Zion AME Church. He later became a faithful member of Living Waters United Church under the leadership of Pastor Deundrick Reed. Mike participated in the Pasco American Karate Club and also entered into the Cook Grand Karate tournament where he defeated his opponent. Mike enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest, he enjoyed food and spending time with his grandchildren. Mike’s favorite past time was watching his favorite football team, Florida State Seminoles. Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Hilda Griffin Russ. On Friday, July 17, 2020 God called Michael home to rest. Mike is survived by his three loving and devoted children, Deandrea Brooks (Andre) of Oxford, North Carolina, Jessica Plummer of Tampa, Florida and Ashley Russ (Willis) of Dade City, Florida; a loving father, Arthur Russ of Malone, Florida; grandchildren, Jalen Brooks, Janyia Plummer, Jaslyn Plumer, Justice Frazier and Jahsir Frazier; two brothers, Kenneth Russ (Paulette) and Stevie Russ (Diane) all of Dade City, Florida; two sisters, Velisa Russ of Bascom, Florida and Dr. Tameka Codling (Christopher) of Lutz, Florida; a longtime companion, Sheila Buie of Dade City, Florida; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.

Milton Funeral Home staff asks everyone who visits during visitation hours, to please wear masks when entering the funeral home. There will be no gathering of family and friends at the funeral home. Once individuals have viewed the remains, we ask that everyone return to your vehicles as you prepare to leave the premises. If you are sick, we ask that you not attend any services.
