Merle Wilhelemina Charles of Tampa, went to heaven at the age of 85 on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Merle was born in Trinidad and Tobago. She later migrated to New York City in the late 60's with her husband, Urban Charles whom she was married to for over 40 years and has since passed. She later moved to Tampa, Florida to enjoy family and her retirement. Merle is survived by her children, Keith Charles, Karen Branford (Kelwyn), and Kern Charles (Kim); a loving sister, Sylvia Jackson, who resides in Trinidad and Tobago, and Yvonne Pierre (Hamilton) ;her niece but was like a sister to her who resides in Brooklyn, NY. She had numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, residing in Trinidad and Tobago, Netherlands and The United States; grandchildren, Adam (Venicia), Christopher (Isa), Kern Jr., Kiandra (Ashton); Wesley, Erica, Ethan, Caleb, Kaiya, and Karys; great-grandchildren, Xavian, Xachary, Kaden, Maila, Amelia, and Xuri. Merle worked very hard in Retail Management for over 30 years. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. Merle had an infectious laughter and when you heard her laugh, you started laughing. She lit up the room when she entered, always had a smile on her face, and always put other people first; if they needed help. She will be forever missed but never forgotten.
