Marilyn Hopkins Obituary

Marilyn L. Hopkins was born on November 5, 1947, to the union of the Late Robert Walton Sr. and the Late Oicer Solomon in Sarasota, Florida.  She resided in Louisiana before moving to Florida.  After a  while, she relocated to Dade City, Florida with her family. Marilyn was educated in Louisianna as a Clerical Secretary and as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 20 years.  She loved her family and friends.  She also loved animals, singing, worshipping, and taking care of the elderly.  In 1982, she became a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a choir member for years.  Marilyn served well as a member until her health failed.  Marilyn was an Eastern Star and a prayer warrior of the Early Risers Prayer Circle, Linda Gail Rogers, President.  Marilyn is survived by her loving and devoted children, Cheryl, Stefanye (Benjamin), Tiffanye, Kimberly, and Mandarin (godson); stepmother, Verdie Walton; her sisters, Patricia, Rose (Russell Sr.) Charlotte, Linda (Richard Sr.); brother, (Robert Walton Jr., deceased), Curtis (Eloise), Carrey Sr. (Sylvia), Cornelius Sr. (Dara), Wesley (Juanita), Ellis Sr., Isaac Sr. (Tess), Ronnie Sr. (Natalie), and Herman (Gwenita); grandchildren, Candace, Taja, Lateria, Shateria, Taneisha, Danisha, Horace III, Lashonda, Shalea, Patrick Jr.,  Nia, Taniyah, Tyron Jr., and Trevon; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, Church Family, and friends.  

 

    

*Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have implemented necessary procedures during Visitations, Funeral Ceremonies, Gravesides, and other public and private ceremonies.  We do ask that all visitors of these services to please continue to wear your masks and please remember to social distance.  These new policies may be inconvenient, but due to the severity of the virus, we ask that everyone be considerate, patient and safe with others as we try to get through this most difficult time.  Seating during services may be limited so please be considerate of the immediate family especially. 

*If you are attending a Graveside service or an Outdoor Celebration you are welcomed to bring your own chair as seating will be limited!  We will provide water as to make everyone as comfortable as possible.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation during this time. We pray that everyone stays safe and cooperative with the current CDC rules.
