Louis Lloyd “Shoes” Samuels was born on February 25, 1937 in St. Catherine, Jamaica to the late Ms. Edith Henry. Louis was raised in St. Catherine, Jamaica with his two siblings who preceded him in death. As a young man, Louis settled in the United States. On May 25, 1963, Brother Louis Samuels was united in Holy Matrimony to Sister Doris Bush and they made Pasco County their home for the past 55 years. Louis entered into a renewed relationship with God and became a member of Mount Zion A.M.E. Church in Dade City where he proudly served as an Usher and a Trustee. Brother Samuels departed this life on Thursday, July 26, 2018. Brother Samuels leaves precious memories with those who loved him: a loving wife, Mrs. Doris Samuels; four devoted children, Ainsworth Samuels, St. Catherine, Jamaica, Colleen Scott (Ransford) St. Catherine, Jamaica, Anthony Bush, Dallas, TX and Robert Bush (Loraine) Hinesville, GA; a devoted family friend and caretaker, Brenda Joyce Barker; twelve grandchildren: Tiffany Ferguson, JaVoni Canty, Treshia Griffiths, Taneshia Griffiths, Casalyn Gilbert-Whyte, Oraine Scott, Damian Samuels, Nerissa Samuels, Reggie Samuels, Bradley Samuels, Veronica Samuels and Kenisha Samuels; one great-grandson, Zalon Ferguson; two sisters-in-law, Mattie Bennett and Joann Bush; one brother-in-law, Ira T. Bush Sr., one god-daughter, Kelly Quinn (Anthony); and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
