Lester Hollis Jr.

Lester Hollis Jr. was born in Tifton Georgia, to the late Lester Hollis Sr. and Hattie Ruth Hollis on September 22, 1944. He served proudly in the United States Army from 1967 – 1988. Lester retired in Ft. Bragg, NC., where he would start a career in driving Simi trucks. Then in 2011, he moved to Zephyrhills, FL to truly live the retired life. Lester was a member of Life's Harbor Church where he served faithfully until his health began to fail. On Friday, August 19, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Lester is survived by his wife Merle Hollis, granddaughter, Eden Emmanuel,; daughters, Donnamay Emmanuel, Gail Ford (Julian), and Kelly Quinn (Anthony); sons, Michael Walton, Raymond Walton, Sherwin Emmanuel, Roston Emmanuel, and Damani Emmanuel; brother, Henry Hollis (Gwendolyn); sisters, Lena Merriweather (Columbus) and Betty Thornton (Howard); Uncle, Aneal Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and his church family Life’s Harbor Church.
