Ketrisha Gail (Miller) Hicks

Ketrisha Gail Miller-Hicks was born April 2, 1975 at South Baptist Hospital in Plant City, FL to Kenneth and Charlotte McCullough.  She was the oldest of five siblings and hailed as the matriarch of the Miller-McCullough family.  Gail led a fulfilling life as a daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to many. She was often referred to as “Sunshyne” due to her bubbly personality and naturally light hair color.  Gail attended public schools in Pasco County and graduated with the class of 1994 at Pasco Comprehensive High School.  It was at Pasco High School that she met the love of her life, Ahmed “Pop” Hicks.  The pair built an amazing life together and raised countless children that to this day refer to them as mom and dad.  Gail had a love of cooking and hosting family gatherings.  She was well known for her collard greens, macaroni and cheese, buffalo chicken dip and her variation of hot-n-juicy seafood. Gail owned and operated Sunshine’s Carwash and Auto Detailing for nearly 2 decades and was listed as “Best of Tampa Bay” by the Tampa Bay Times on several occasions.  Sunshine’s Carwash has gifted scholarships for countless athletes, funded many local youth organizations, employed many people transitioning from incarceration back into society, and provided financial support to countless area initiatives in Eastern Pasco County. Gail departed this earthly home on June 26, 2023, after a lengthy, but courageous fight with congenital heart disease.

Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Ahmed Hicks Sr. and sister, Maria McCullough.  She leaves to the cherish her memory, her children, Ahmeisha Hicks, Santana Singletary-Hicks, Ahmed Hicks Jr., Tiffany Brockington (adopted daughter) and step-daughter Sierra Mixon all of Zephyrhills, FL; parents, Kenneth and Charlotte McCullough of Zephyrhills, FL; parents in law, Charlie and Lillian Smith of Dade City, FL; siblings, Kimberly Miller-McCullough, Patricia McCullough and Kenneth McCullough Jr., all of Zephyrhills, FL; godson, Judah Norwood of Tarpon Springs, FL; and a host of sorrowing grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
