Johnny Fred Harrold, Sr (affectionately known as DD, Chief and Johnny-go-long),was born January 2, 1961, to Ellis and Doris Harrold in Zephyrhills, FL. He received his education in the Pasco County School District. Throughout his school years he played a variety of sports. He was a great athlete that excelled in sports as well as academics. His track team’s championship record still lives in the halls of ZHS, as a testament to how good they were. After graduation he joined the US Navy where he served his country faithfully. Upon an honorable discharge he returned to Tampa, FL and began civilian employment most recently with US Steel until his health began to fail.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age. Throughout his life, he would openly talk about the goodness of God. He touched the heart of so many people that he came across. He would often be seen in Zephyrhills, circling the blocks, visiting with the old and young folks that he’d known most of his life, reminiscing about the good ‘ol days. He had an unbelievable memory. If it ever happened, he could tell you about it, and he would.
On June 19, 2024, with loved ones surrounding him, our Heavenly Father called Johnny home from his earthly duties, to receive his heavenly reward. He was preceded in death by his mother: Doris Harrold; brothers, Ellis Williams and Larry Williams; and sisters, Minnie(baby) and Margaret.
