Mr. James W. Pye was born on November 16, 1945, in Valdosta, Georgia to the Late Viola Pye and the Late Otis Pye. He was educated in the Lowndes County School System. James worked several years for Flying J’s and later retired due to his declining health. James enjoyed singing and giving praises to God. You could always find him singing to others in the nursing home. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. James departed this life on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Orchid Cove of Dade City formally known as Heritage Park Specialty Care Center. He leaves to cherish: his devoted wife, Donna Townsend-Pye; children, Jeffery Pye Sr. (Klemetis), Theotis Pye (Nyeisha), Darrell McCrae (Patricia), Andrea Davis, Larry Pye, Genethel Pye, Gregory Pye (Clarissa) Shamiqua Pye (Theo), and Joshua Zander. He was preceded in death by his son, James Pye Jr; brothers and sisters, Mamie Hall, Rose Mae Pye, Johnny Pye, Earnest Pye, and OD Pye. James is also survived by his brothers, Jimmy Pye (Regina) Robert Pye (Roshelle) George Pye and Artis Pye; sisters, Annie Grace House, Mary Lee, and Frankie Berrian (Russell); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other sorrowing relatives and friends.

Seating during services may be limited so please be considerate of the immediate family especially. .

We will provide water to make everyone as comfortable as possible. We thank you in advance for your cooperation during this time.
