Gilbert Anthony Morgan

Mr. Gilbert Anthony Morgan was born March 7, 1965, in Camden, New Jersey to Rev. Lela M. Morgan and Gilbert L. Samuels. He departed this life on March 4, 2021. Gil had many passions, cooking, eating, and fishing to name a few.  He became a member of Zion Baptist Church in Camden, New Jersey in his early years and later a member at Lifepoint Church in Tampa, Florida. While at Lifepoint, Gil enjoyed volunteering with the Prison Ministry.  Gil graduated from Camden High School in 1983 and then went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He began his professional career at IBM in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania before relocating to the Northern Virginia area for a few years. He later relocated to North Carolina where he became the owner and operator of a water purification business. He relocated to the Tampa, Florida area in 2005 and had another entrepreneurial adventure before joining Verizon as a part of their management team. He took early retirement from Verizon and began pursuing his true passion and became a proud owner and operator of a dog boarding service.  Left to cherish his wonderful memories are his three children; Michael A. and Briana A., from his union with Sharon Morgan and Gilbert A., from his union with Karin Morgan.  He also leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Rev. Lela Morgan; brother, Brian L. Morgan (Alma), and Ty D. Morgan (Simone); nieces and nephews, Deanna M., Brian Z., Mya J., Melayna G., Delia K., and Brian X.; sisters-in-law, Diana, Simone, and Alma; aunts and uncles, Viola (Daniel), Winifred, Haroldene, Sandra (Marvin), Peter (Linda), and Albert; he also leaves to cherish his memories three additional stepchildren; Cameron, Chandler, and Carrynton; and a host of other family members, friends, and neighbors.

*Due to the Conoravirus pandemic, all services will institute the CDC guidelines throughout the duration of the Visitation, Funeral, Graveside or Memorial services.  Masks must be worn during every Visitation, Funeral, Graveside, or  Memorial service, this assures that everyone is safe.  We also ask that everyone practice social distancing at all times.  If you are attending a public graveside service, we ask that you bring your own chair and provide your own water bottle, should you need either of the two.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation!
