Geoffrey Kaleb Mathis, of Zephyrhills, was born on March 19, 2004. He graced our lives with his stoic yet endearing presence, his chubby cheeks a testament to his early years. We all remember the young boy who carefully selected the most thoughtful gifts at the school's Santa Shoppe and the young man who mistakenly left his wallet in Atlanta two Christmases in a row. He was an empathic and giving friend who wanted to be everyone's protector. He also wanted Kevin's godchildren to call him "Uncle Geoff!" He always wanted to be in charge as the "oldest" brother since he beat Gabriel out by one minute. In Gabe's defense, he was breached! Every Christmas, during our Uno tournaments, he was quick to declare, "I'm winning everything!" Spoiler alert: he didn't! After we all poked fun at him, he would reply, “Well, at least I didn’t lose. I beat Sarah!” He was a member of Miracle Temple Community Church in Zephyrhills, Florida, serving faithfully on the drums and in the youth department. Geoffrey graduated from Zephyrhills High School in May 2023. His love for God, his church, his family, football, drums, and friends was not just fierce but a burning passion. His talent and potential were exponential. He leaves his parents, Gregory K. and Carlotta, his eldest brother, Gregory "Kevin" (Donise, Karyara), his sister, Sarah (Joshua), his twin brother, Gabriel K., his significant other, Georgiana (Giana), his loving grandparents, Henry and Margaret, and a host of loving uncles, aunts, and cousins. His absence is deeply felt, and the void he leaves in our lives is immeasurable. We will carry his memory in our hearts forever, finding comfort in the love and joy he brought us.
