Freeman Courtney, Jr. Obituary

Freeman Courtney, Jr. was born on June 22, 1951 in Dade City, Florida to the late Freeman Courtney Sr. and the Late Eunice Fernand. Freeman attended the public schools of Pasco County, where he met and made many lasting friendships. Freeman furthered his education and attended college at Florida Memorial University in Miami, Florida where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. After college graduation, Freeman became employed for several years with Lindsey Lumber Company in Tampa, Florida, where he worked in Management. Freeman later became employed with Pasco County Schools, where he also worked in Management for several years. Freeman lived life to the fullest and always enjoyed spending time with his close friends. Freeman did not have biological children of his own but God afforded him the opportunity to help rear and nurture, Latrice, Lanarcar, Lamont, LaSanchez and LaSupta Singletary. He played a very important part in their upbringing and this their relationship matured into their adult life. They loved him dearly and he thought the world of them. They all share very fond memories with Freeman., and their relationship continued to grow up until his demise on Thursday, June 23, 2022. Freeman was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman and Eunice Courtney; his sister, Joanna McClendon; and his nephew, Keith Clay McClendon. Freeman leaves fond memories with three loving nephews, Bishop Jesse B. McClendon (Terry) of Summerfield, FL; Pastor Freeman D. McClendon (Rosandrea) of Zephyrhills, FL and Todd F. McClendon of Summerfield, FL; a special cousin, Mack Johnson (Rebecca) of Fort Worth, Texas; like a daughter, Bradly Thompson; a special friend and caretaker, Corinth Kelly of Trilby, FL; special friends, Dennard Smith, Mary Smith, Tobias Roberts, Johnnie Clower, Martin Knight and Connie Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.

 

 

*Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have implemented necessary procedures during Visitations, Funeral Ceremonies, Gravesides, and other public and private ceremonies.  We do ask that all visitors of these services to please continue to wear your masks and please remember to social distance.  These new policies may be inconvenient, but due to the severity of the virus, we ask that everyone be considerate, patient, and safe with others as we try to get through this most difficult time.  Seating during services may be limited so please be considerate of the immediate family especially.  

*If you are attending a Graveside service or an Outdoor Celebration you are welcomed to bring your own chair as seating will be limited!  We will provide water to make everyone as comfortable as possible.  We thank you in advance for your cooperation during this time. We pray that everyone stays safe and cooperative with the current CDC rules.
