Dorsey Steele Obituary
Dorsey Dean Frazier was born April 2, 1951, to the late Willie (Will) Frazier and Willie Gus (Harris) Frazier in Lakeland, Florida. Dorsey Dean (Chris) was educated in Pasco County. She attended Moore Mickens Academy, Moore Mickens, and graduated from Pasco High in 1970. Chris was a lifelong resident of Dade City, Florida. After graduation, she enrolled in a nursing program in Tampa, Florida for two years. She was employed by Kraft Foods, the citrus industry, and St.Leo. She found her calling in life working with children and did so with a big heart and an even bigger smile. In most recent years, she was employed with Pasco County School Board at Rodney B. Cox as a Paraprofessional for 33 years, before she retired. Dorsey gave her life to Christ at an early age. She attended Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev Haynes in her earlier years. Dorsey later became a member of Kingdom People International Ministries under the leadership of Dr. Lillian Hunter. She proudly served in many capacities of the church. Dorsey was proud to serve as an usher and to have worked many years on the kitchen committee. Dorsey served faithfully wherever God had planted her to serve. She also held positions in the church including, Secretary, Treasure Department, Vice President, President, and Coordinator of many other ministries. Dorsey was a very loving and kind person who was loved by many. She had a genuine smile that would brighten anyone's day. On Saturday, July 17, 2021, God called Dorsey home to rest. She was preceded in death by her father, Will Frazier; her mother, Willie Gus Frazier; her grandparents, William and Isabella Harris; and her husband, Alphonzo Steele. Dorsey is survived by: her loving brother, Kenneth Frazier, Sr (Tina); nieces and nephews, Katrina Frazier, Kenneth Frazier Jr, Willis Frazier, and Audra Frazier Whitfield (Dennis); 3 great-nephews, Devin, Isaiah, and Grayson; 2 great-nieces, Justice and Jahsir; sisters-in-law, Claudia Steele, Cleopatra Steele, Maxine Tucker, and Patricia Lamar; brothers-in-law, Samuel Steele, Alfreddie Steele, and Robert Steele (Cynthia); 3 special friends, Lois Gray, Neudie Scott, Lillian Hunter and a host of sorrowing relatives and friends.
*Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have implemented necessary procedures during Visitations, Funeral Ceremonies, Gravesides, and other public and private ceremonies. We do ask that all visitors of these services please continue to wear their masks and please remember to social distance. These new policies may be inconvenient, but due to the severity of the virus, we ask that everyone be considerate, patient, and safe with others as we try to get through this most difficult time. Seating during services may be limited so please be considerate of the immediate family especially.
*If you are attending a Graveside service or an Outdoor Celebration you are welcomed to bring your own chair as seating will be limited! We will provide water to make everyone as comfortable as possible. We thank you in advance for your cooperation during this time.
