Donald Starks was born March 5, 1962 in Brooksville, Florida to Grover and Aretha Starks. He attended Hernando county public school system, where he met and made many lasting friendships. Donald served at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church as a young man. Don worked in the citrus groves as well as working as a handyman in the Twin Lake / Hill-N-Dale community. He was a giver, even in his last days at the Tampa General Hospital of Brooksville, Donald continued the legacy of giving through organ donation. He transitioned on January 15, 2024 at Tampa General Hospital, Brooksville after a short illness. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Grover and Aretha Starks; his brother, Calvin Starks; and his brother-in- law, Edward Franklin. He leaves to cherish his memory: brothers, LA Laverette (Frances) of Troy, Alabama, Rufus Hall, Jr (Cheryl), Roy “Pete” Newson both of Brooksville, Florida, and Franklin Starks, Sr.(Constance) of Dade City, Florida; sisters, Gloria Jean Brooks (Roy) of Troy, Alabama, Catherine Starks Franklin of Ridge Manor, Florida, and Gloria Starks (Miller) of Spring Hill, Florida; two uncles, James Starks and Roosevelt Watson both of Brooksville, Florida; two aunts, Mildred Watson of Parsippany, New Jersey and Geraldine Monroe (Charles) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; special friends, David “Red” Smith, Carolyn, Kathy, Lisa and Tina; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
