Deaconess Bessie Mae Pullen was born August 3, 1927 in Sanford, Florida to the late Nathaniel Jackson and the late Leola Jackson. She received her formal education in Sanford, Florida and furthered her education, graduating from Croom Academy and Beauty School of Sandford, Florida. Deaconess Pullen was enjoyed fishing with her family and friends. Deaconess Pullen was a faithful and dedicated member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Lacoochee, Florida under the leadership of Reverend Clyde Carter. Deaconess Pullen loved God's word and shared it with everyone she came in contact with. She had a beautiful voice, that she used to sing God's praises. Deaconess Pullen was preceded in death by: her parents, Nathaniel and Leola Jackson; her husband, Deacon Melvin Pullen, Sr.; her sisters, Dorothy Bootan, Jerelene Ortega; her brothers, Louis Jackson, Luke Jackson, Boswell Jackson and Nathan Jackson; her sons, Melvin Pullen, Jr, and Johnnie Fuller. On Thursday March 19, 2026 Deaconess Pullen was called home to her eternal rest, surrounded by her loving family. Deaconess Pullen leaves to cherish her precious memory: her son, Victor Pullen, Sr. (Sylvia Clark); special daughter, Tiyanna Goff (Kendall); daughters, Christine Anderson; adopted daughter, Delores Bostock, and Lynetta Thompson (Bernard) ; grand children, Shanee Rivers (Perry), Victor Pullen, Jr., Janette Pullen, Nakaysha Pullen, Olivia Pullen, Dominique McKnight, Steve Stewart, Jr., Roderick Stewart, Sr. (Precious), Johnny Bostock, Corey Bostock, Nikki Bostock, and Jainnillia Pullen; special family members, Roderick Stewart, Jr. "AKA Dink" (special grandson), Lisa Jackson (niece), Jennie Jackson (niece), Brenda Davis (Dwight) (cousin), Donna Shoss (Anthony, Sr.); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
