Deacon Lewis Williams Mitchell was born on May 7, 1950, to Dora Mae Mitchell and the late RB Mitchell of Dade City, Florida. Lewis graduated from Moore Mickens High School Class of 1968. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Air Force from April 1969 until January 1974. Upon completing his service, he became a licensed contractor which led him to open and operate his own business, Mitchell Construction LLC. Lewis was a dedicated member at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church of Zephyrhills, where he served as Chairman of the Deacon Board, Sunday School Superintendent, Overseer of Vacation Bible School, and held many other duties during his 32 years of service there. Deacon Lewis Mitchell was called home on September 28, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, RB Mitchell; his sister, Helen Mitchell; and his granddaughter, Skyla Eshelman. His life and legacy will live on through his loving mother Dora Mae Mitchell; his devoted wife of 34 years, Evangelist Sonja Mitchell; his children Corey Mitchell (Tabatha), Kontar Eshelman (Tatyana), Michael Mitchell (Deedra), Jonathan Mitchell, Gabrielle Mitchell (Devon), Heather Mitchell, Abigail Mitchell, Tashalyn Causey (Tyrone), James-Ricky Giles Jr. (Denate), and Moneice Griffin (Danny); his brothers Ronald Mitchell (Rita), Milton Mitchell (Sara), and sisters Beverly Mitchell and Debra Mitchell; 21 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members, as well as the Macedonia Missionary Baptist church members, and friends.

Seating during services may be limited so please be considerate of the immediate family especially.
