Deacon Jessie Lee Redmon, Sr. was born September 10, 1957, in Monticello, Florida, to the late Andrew Redmon and Kathleen Redmon Pittman. At a young age, his family relocated to San Antonio, Florida, where he attended Pasco County Public Schools. Jessie was one of eight children. Jessie was raised in San Antonio, Florida. After school, he worked in the orange groves, where he picked oranges. He enjoyed athletics, particularly football and basketball, and he graduated from Pasco Comprehensive High School. Jessie began working at Niesner prior until graduation and remained there until the business closed. He later worked for Lykes Multi-Can Company of Pasco until his retirement, following the company’s closure. In 1989, while living in Dade City, Jessie joined New Life Family Church in Christ in 1988, where he accepted Christ as his Personal Savior and began serving faithfully. He was ordained as a deacon in 1991 under the leadership of Bishop Jesse McClendon. After retiring from Lykes Multi-Can Company of Pasco, Jessie later moved to Dougals, Georgia. Deacon Jessie Lee Redmon, Sr. lived a life of faithful service. He was a devoted servant of God, a faithful Deacon, and a cherished pillar within both his church and community. For approximately twelve years, he served honorably as a Deacon, exemplifying humility, dependability, and a heart committed to the work of the Lord. At The Lighthouse Church of God, Deacon Redmon’s service extended far beyond one role. He faithfully served in the Media Department, working behind the scenes to help ensure that the Gospel message reached hearts both inside and beyond the sanctuary. His dedication helped strengthen the ministry and support the vision of the church. He also served as the church’s groundskeeper, taking great pride in maintaining the house of God. With diligence and care, he ensured that the church property remained a place of order and excellence. His work reflected his deep respect for God’s house and his commitment to honoring Him in every task, no matter how big or small. Additionally, Deacon Redmon played a vital role in the culinary ministry, where he was especially known for his BBQ. Through this ministry, he helped serve and bless countless families, using his gifts not only to prepare meals but to bring comfort, fellowship, and joy to others. His service in this area demonstrated his love for people and his willingness to meet both spiritual and practical needs. More than his titles, Deacon Redmon was known for his servant’s heart. He was always willing to step in wherever needed, offering his time, strength, and support without hesitation. His life was a reflection of true ministry – faith in action. In the community, he was recognized as a man of integrity, kindness, and quiet strength. He lived out his faith daily, impacting lives through simple yet meaningful acts of service and compassion. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Andrew Redmon and Kathleen Redmon Pittman; his stepfather, Jesse Pittman; and his siblings, Frankie Lee Redmon, Helen Davis, Theresa Harris, and Andrew Redmon. On Thursday, March 19, 2026, Deacon Redmon answered the Master's call and went home to be with the Lord. Deacon Jessie Lee Redmon, Sr. leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, dedicated service, and genuine love for God and people. Though he has transitioned from labor to reward, the seeds he has sown will continue to bear fruit for years to come. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant….” (Matthew 25: 23) Deacon Jessie Lee Redmon leaves to cherish his memory: his son, Jessie Lee Redmon, Jr.; grandchildren, Jessie Redmon III, Julian Redmon, and Jacobee Redmon; sisters, Sandra Smith (Walter) of Miami, Florida, and Bobbie Bethea (Willis) of Orlando, Florida; brothers, Sammy Lee Redmon of Dade City, Florida, Felix Redmon (Dolores) of Dade City, Florida, Rev. Dr. Matthew Redmon (Andrea) of Brandon, Florida, John Redmon of Peoria, Illinois, Rev. Dr. James Redmon (Donna) of Monticello, Florida, Johnny Lewis Williams of Tallahassee, Florida, and Lonnie Hill (Tequilla) of Tallahassee, Florida; goddaughter, Antionette Harrison (Joey) of Poinciana, FL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and best Florida friends Mr. and Mrs. James Harris; and family friend, John Wiggins of Peoria, Illinois.
