Arturo Sylvester, born in Panama in 1944, died peacefully, surrounded by family on January 20, 2023 following a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Rose; daughters Kristina and Ninotchka; bonus family including great grandchildren Theodore, Elizabeth, Nicole, Atticus, and Dylan, all of whom affectionately called him "Honey;" a brother, two nephews, and several cousins. Arturo is preceded in death by his father Thomas Sylvester and mother Estella Oxley. A veteran of the United States Army, Arturo honorably served his country for eight years. He went on to become a police officer, retiring after 23 years. A protector of his country and community, Arturo is remembered for his work with disadvantaged youth in the Washington DC area. Arturo was an avid bowler, participating most recently in leagues surrounding Port Richey, FL. He was also a wonderful father and great grandfather. His great grandchildren, ranging in age from 6 months to 6 years, loved him dearly, often jumping all over him. Most importantly, Arturo was a child of God. A member of Miracle Temple Community Church (Zephyrhills, FL), Arturo and Rose attended often to hear the message of eternal salvation through Jesus Christ. Arturo accepted that message and now lives in glory with our Lord for eternity.
