Alga Hall Obituary

Alga Vanessa Hall was born November 10, 1954 to the Late John and Eva Hall in Dade City, Florida. Alga graduated from Pasco High School in 1972 as an Honor Society Member. She then went to college and attended FAMU, obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Education and graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1976. While in college, Alga accepted Christ into her life and lived as a vessel, used by God. She gave her gifts, talents, and abilities in so many capacities, especially towards children and teens. Alga received discipleship training that allowed her to do many works in ministry. From her foundational years to her spiritual maturity, we thank God for the influence of the different ministries she attended. Upon graduating from FAMU, Alga became employed at Cox Elementary School from 1976 until her retirement in 2007. September 22, 1984, Alga enlisted in the United States Army Reserve as a Military Police Officer. She was deployed in 1990 to Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm, until her return home in 1991 and was honorably discharged on September 21, 1992. Alga had a great love for her family, her students, music, writing poems, taking long drives, caring for her cats, but most of all, Jesus Christ. Alga was preceded in death by: her aunts and uncles; nephew, Christopher Rahsaan Hall; sister in law, Willie Mae Hall; and brother-in-law, William Hanner. Alga leaves to cherish her memories: her siblings, Ernest B. Hall and M. Patrice Hanner; nephew and nieces, Orlon Hall, Meisha Hanner and Ev'Bet Dewitt (David); great-nephews and nieces, Javion Hanner, Meiari Nash, Anaya Hall, Nathaniel and Melody Dewitt and Jaxon Hall; god sisters, Tamara Godbolt, Gert Oliver and Katheren Southward; god children, Michael and Kiara Johnson; god grands, Destiny Lewis, Domanic Thompson and Malik Baily; close relatives and friends, Jeanette and G.C. Williams, Opal, Annie and Clarence Hall, Dolores and Felix Redmon, Arlene and Rod Williams, Henry and Margaret Mathis, Pam Johnson, Jean Burnside, Ida Harris, Eliza Hall, Marilyn Smith, Madeline Hughes, Teresa Clove and Dorothy Stewart; and a host of other relatives, students, teachers, caregivers and friends.
