Alfreda Wheeler, born on July 18, 1957, in Dade City, Florida, answered the Master’s call on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 3:56 PM, ending a beautiful and fruitful life. Alfreda lived most of her life in Lacoochee, Florida, where she attended the Pasco County School System, graduating as part of the Class of 1975. During her years on earth, Alfreda met and married George Wheeler Sr. and in their union had two wonderful children: Carlos Sermon and George Wheeler Jr. The family grew together in Lacoochee Florida and later moved to Ridge Manor, Florida, where they continued to grow and thrive. Alfreda had a long and dedicated career, starting with Milton Funeral Home and later working for over 20 years at Circle K in Ridge Manor, Florida, where she became affectionately known as “Ms. Freda.” She retired in March of 2022 leaving behind many fond memories with her colleagues and customers. A devout woman of faith, Alfreda gave her life to God at an early age and was a loyal and longtime member of New Bethel A.M.E. Church in Lacoochee, Florida, where she remained a beloved part of the church family. She was preceded in death by her father, Shelton King; her sister, Valery Jean Reese; her husband, George Wheeler Sr; and her son, Carlos Sermon (Trameka). To cherish all the joyful memories, she leaves behind: her loving son, George Wheeler Jr. (Twanna); her beloved mother, Ella Sermon; her brother, Willie Sermon (the late Audrey); her sister, Cassandra Ragoonana (Gerard); her grandchildren: Tyrell Sims (Sierrah), Trakeyria Sermon, TraKeyvion Hale, Gia Wheeler, and Teagan Wheeler; her great-granddaughters, Kasyrah Sims and Kiyoni Turner; and her longtime companion, Sylvester Moorer, whom she lovingly referred to as “Her King.” She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends, including her cherished Facebook family, all of whom will forever remember Alfreda's warmth, kindness, and love. Alfreda will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her gentle spirit, infectious smile, and unwavering faith have left an indelible mark on the hearts of everyone.
