Mr. Samuel Lawson was born July 6, 1928 to the Late Andrew and Eliza Lawson in Brooksville, Florida. After high school, he attended Florida A & M. University. Sam had a high aptitude for mathematics and quickly became the neighborhood math tutor and tax preparer until the golden age of 90. Sam was a motorcycle enthusiast, sports fanatic, avid fisherman and handyman extraordinaire. Most importantly, he was steadfast in his belief in Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and displayed unwavering support of the church. Sam was a faithful member of Mt. Zion AME Church. Mr. Lawson was married to the Late Annie M. Lawson. He was a loving husband, supportive father full of wisdom, a caring brother and a helpful friend and neighbor. He touched the lives of many people with his generosity, humor and smile. On August 23, 2018, Mr. Lawson departed this life peacefully at home amongst his loved ones. He leaves to cherish his memory: two children, Lewis Lawson and Pamela Lawson both of Brooksville, Florida; three sisters, Erma Willis of Lakeland, Florida, Marion Spires of Bradenton, Florida and Francis Oliver of Brooksville, Florida; three sisters-in-law, Gladys Chester and Charlotte Chester both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Martha Lawson of Brooksville, Florida; one aunt, Vera Chester of Brooksville, Florida; eight grandchildren, Gregory Smith and Adrianne Mathieu both of Miami, Florida, Michael Moore of Tampa, Florida, Erica Lawson, Ciera Brown and Montoya Lawson all of Brooksville, Florida, Andrew Lawson of Atlanta, Georgia and Tarriq Lawson of Tallahassee, Florida; eighteen great grandchildren, Ryan Denson and Shemar Lawson both of Brooksville, Florida and numerous others; eleven great-great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing surrogate relatives and friends.
