Doris Bush Samuels was born on September 9, 1940 in Dade City, Florida to the late Ira T. and RoxAnna Bush (Saulsby). Sister Samuels lived her entire life in the Dade City area and was educated at Moore Mickens Academy. On May 25, 1963, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Louis Samuels and remained loyal to him for 55 years, until his passing in 2018. She devoted herself to providing for her family by working in the Citrus industry and providing home-maker services before working for Pasco County Public Schools, as a Custodian at Lacoochee Elementary School, until her retirement. Sister Samuels devoted her life to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at an early age. She was a member of Mount Zion A.M.E. Church in Dade City all of her life. She proudly served as a Stewardess and as a leading member of the church’s kitchen staff. Sister Samuels departed this life on Thursday, December 19, 2019. Sister Samuels leaves precious memories with those who loved her: two devoted sons, Anthony Bush of Dallas, Texas and Robert Bush (Loraine) of Hinesville, Georgia; two step-children, Ainsworth Samuels of St. Catherine, Jamaica and Colleen Scott (Ransford) of St. Andrew, Jamaica; devoted family friends and caregivers Brenda 'Joyce' Barker and Harriett Craig; close family friends James & Patricia Glover and Sandy Vanbuskirk; seven grandchildren, Tiffany Ferguson, JaVoni Canty, Teneisha Griffiths, Treshia Griffiths, Reggie Samuels, Casalyn Gilbert-Whyte, and Oraine Scott; one great-grandson, Zalon Ferguson; two sisters, Joann Bush and Mattie Bennett; one brother Ira T. Bush Jr.; one goddaughter Kelly Quinn (Anthony); and a host of other family and friends.
